ABOUT US

Denali Rescue Volunteers (DRV) was founded by volunteers, for volunteers.

We are a non-profit that support the Mountain Volunteers-in-Parks (VIP) program at Denali National Park. We provide gear, training, and logistical support to help skilled volunteers conduct high-altitude rescue patrols. By easing financial and logistical burdens, DRV enables climbers and medics to assist in life-saving missions on North America’s tallest peak.

IMPACT

We Empower Volunteers to Save Lives and Protect Denali’s Wilderness

LIVES SAVES & PROTECTED

DRV-backed VIPs bolster Denali’s rescue capacity, providing medical aid, technical support, avalanche risk assessment, and environmental clean-up—safeguarding climbers and preserving Wilderness.

COST-EFFECTIVE MODEL

By pooling resources and volunteer talent, DRV supplements Denali National Park's limited spending and delivers high quality equipment needed to perform rescues effectively.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

Volunteers educate climbers on Leave No Trace principles and help enforce clean climbing practices at high-altitude camps. They participate in waste removal efforts, including packing out human waste and abandoned gear from the mountain. Through our volutneer’s work, DRV promotes a culture of responsibility that protects both climbers and the wild landscape they depend on.

MISSION

Provide Housing & Financial Support to Those Who Save Lives

While DRV often works behind the scenes, we provide critical support—covering costs for housing, gear, radios, protective equipment, and access to mental health resources—so volunteers can focus on the mission of saving lives.
